Our story began 40 years ago, when a novice farmer with nominal assets sought expertise from foreign growers and producers. He also benefited from the help of his family members incorporating his spouse, son, grandsons and others with distinct roles and responsibilities, transforming the company from a centralized leadership to a family business corporation. Recognizing the advantages of family ownership, a succession plan is implemented to arrange the progression of the company to the younger generation.
These factors developed Helwan Export to being one of the leading export and import companies in Egypt and the Middle East specialized in growing, packing and exporting fresh vegetables and fruits to a wide range number of European countries.

All our farms and packhouses have been evaluated by Global Gap for safety, security and efficacy according to universal standards. Re-evaluated regularly by experts to ensure minimal detrimental environmental impact on farming operations, reducing the use of chemicals, ensuring health and safety of our employees, our products and consumers.
Standards
As fresh fruits and vegetables growers and exporters, Helwan is complying with several high quality standards and was able to attain certifications from BRCGS, Global Gap, Sedex and GS1.
